Auburn Tigers News: All-American kicker chooses AU over Ole Miss, recruiting billboards go up around the country
In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, head coach Hugh Freeze stuffs Lane Kiffin in a locker, and Auburn football recruiting billboards go up around the country
The decision came down between the Ole Miss Rebels and the Auburn Tigers for kicker Towns McGough. Out of Auburn High School, McGough is ranked as a 5-star by the Kohl's Kicking Camp and is a MaxPreps first-team All-American.
McGough made 19 of 22 field goals for the Tigers this season, according to AL.com, six of which were beyond 50 yards. Each of the kicker's missed field goals was from greater than 56 yards.
McGough was considered to be an Ole Miss lean for some time, but Auburn football made a big push at the end and convinced the local to stay home for college. He is the third 5-star to sign with the Tigers in the 2024 class.

In other news, the Auburn football program is going across the country via billboard. The Tigers will be putting up billboards featuring signees from the 2024 class in and around their hometowns and are encouraging fans to take photos when they see them.
With half of the 2024 Auburn Tigers coming from in-state, there should be plenty of billboards around Alabama, but the rest will be scattered far and wide. Check Santa Ana, CA, for DeAndre Carter billboards, Little Rock, AR, for Walker White billboards, and all around Florida and Georgia for others.
21 commits have signed their Letters of Intent, so far, and the Auburn football class of 2024 is ranked #7 in the nation and #4 in the SEC behind Alabama, Georgia, and Texas. The Tigers have also added three transfers from the portal in wide receiver Robert Lewis (Georgia State), defensive lineman Gage Keys (Kansas) and linebacker Dorian Mausi (Duke).
