Bo Nix believes the Denver Broncos' quarterback competition -- one that pitted him against Zach Wilson and fellow Auburn football alum Jarrett Stidham -- has been respectful and benefitting everyone involved.

“I have great respect for those guys and we’re competing at a very high level, but it’s very respectful competition," Nix said (h/t NBC Sports). "I think we all want each other to succeed. We all know that we’ve come from different paths and had to overcome different adversities, and that’s kind of what connects us in that. We’re all helping each other, and it’s been great to learn from those guys and experience some things that they’ve experienced.

“And I think honestly, my job as a rookie is to soak up everything I can, especially from those guys. You know, Zach’s played a lot and Stidham’s played a lot of years. And so they’ve got — between the two — different situations, but a lot of knowledge, so that’s what I’m excited to continue to learn in training camp. I think it’s just overall healthy competition, a good competition and I think we’re all going to be better coming out of it.”

Bo Nix the overwhelming favorite to be named Denver Broncos' QB1

Nix has overwhelming odds to win the Broncos' quarterback competition, listed at -400 on DraftKings (h/t Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith). Wilson is a longshot +450 and Stidham was given the longest odds at +650.

After beating out Joey Gatewood in 2019 and TJ Finley in 2021 for the Auburn Tigers' starting job, and Ty Thompson at Oregon, he faces two former stars at the college level, one (Wilson) also a first-round pick, in his first professional competition.

From the sounds of it, he's prepared for it from both a competition standpoint, and from the standpoint of having to be a good teammate in the NFL.

He'll need to have allies as he faces the hard knocks of pro football as a big target under center as a rookie.
