COMMITTING TODAY: Auburn football tight end target Hollis Davidson

Today 3-star tight end Hollis Davidson, a former Auburn football commit, will make his final decision.

Happy July 4! But there could be more than just fireworks and American independence to celebrate today. 3-star tight end Hollis Davidson is slated to make his commitment decision today and will choose between two finalists: Florida State and Auburn football.

Davidson, from Peachtree City, Georgia, is ranked as the #31 tight end in the recruiting class of 2025 and is the #52 recruit out of his state. Out of McIntosh High School, Davidson has been a longtime target for the Auburn Tigers and tight end coach Ben Aigamaua. He originally committed to the Tigers back in February after making his way to the Plains for Auburn's Junior Day.

Then, a few months later in May, Davidson decided he had jumped the gun and reopened his recruitment so he could take more official visits. There was a big push from the Florida State Seminoles and the tight end was just in Tallahassee for an official visit, but the Auburn folks never stopped recruiting Davidson, which meant a lot to him, per Auburn Live.

“I really appreciate the staff,” he told Auburn Live after his visit June 14-16. “It means a lot to me. It really means a lot.”

However, over the weekend the Seminoles picked up a commitment from 4-star tight end Chase Loftin, which appears to be a good sign for the Tigers, according to Jeffrey Lee, who put in a prediction for the Tigers to land Davidson earlier this week.

Davidson is also close friends with current Auburn football tight end commit Ryan Ghea, who has been a big help in trying to bring Davidson back on board. He will have the opportunity to join Ghea and the rest of the 2025 Auburn Tigers today.
