Denver Broncos deemed to be wasting time having QB competition instead of coronating Bo Nix

Bo Nix is hands down the best quarterback the Denver Broncos have according to Let's Talk Broncos' Zach Segars -- who had a firsthand view of Nix, Jarrett Stidham, and Zach Wilson and had exemplary things to say about the former and less-than-favorable things to say about the latter two.

"Stidham felt like the journeymen I’ve come accustomed to seeing," Segars prefaced before saying, "Wilson was ROUGHHHHH. Nix looked like a legit QB with, accuracy, timing, touch, and appeared to work through reads well.

"The 61 collegiate starts are evident," Segars added. "Clean footwork, smooth dropback, natural throwing motion. Working through his reads well. I feel like (Denver) is really wasting reps with this competition. Devote your time to developing Bo."

Nix is a heavy favorite to win the Broncos' QB1job. It sounds like he's using training camp to end the conversation completely.

Jarrett Stidham may have found his fit as Bo Nix's journeyman backup

Auburn connection aside, Nix and Stidham can coexist in Denver's backfield with the former Baylor star in a backup role. Being a journeyman is what you want in a pinch -- and Nix doesn't have a clean bill of health. Stidham could be saving his role by being second best.

Which brings us to Wilson. The former No. 2 overall pick looking so rough could spell the end of the road for him. After his New York Jets stint, it was somewhat surprising to even see him vie for a starting position so soon.

If the NFL has moved on from this version of Wilson, he could be a major star for the UFL next season. One big year in the spring league could immediately propel him back to the top of the minds in NFL front offices.

Who knows? Maybe Wilson's upside is ultimately valued over Stidham's journeyman status and it's Stidham who is cut.

All that's known is that Nix is the guy in the Mile High City right now.
