Former Auburn football star Bo Nix may be replaced at Oregon by not just one blue-chip transfer (Dillon Gabriel via Oklahoma), but two, with Dan Lanning, Will Stein, and the Ducks looking to land 4-star transfer QB Dante Moore (via UCLA).

"UCLA transfer quarterback Dante Moore will be visiting Oregon this week, a source confirmed to On3," On3's Pete Nakos prefaced before saying, "According to the source, the former Five-Star Plus+ recruit is expected to arrive in Eugene on Thursday. Oklahoma transfer quarterback Dillon Gabriel committed to the Ducks over this past weekend. Moore is still open to landing at Oregon. Since he entered the portal, the key variable has been finding a place to be developed."

Moore and Gabriel's recruiting rankings have gone in opposite directions over the course of their careers. While Gabriel was a 3-star coming out of Mililani (Hawaii) in 2019, but over the course of three years at UCF and two years at Oklahoma, before being designated a 4-star transfer prospect by 247Sports. Moore went in the opposite direction, having a star stripped away from his 5-star high school rating and also being deemed a 4-star transfer after just one season at UCLA; a struggle that had Chip Kelly's seat warming up by the end of the season.

Former Auburn football star Bo Nix had little to say about Dillon Gabriel, Oregon's QB situation

Nix had little to say when asked about Gabriel replacing him at Oregon under center, admitting that he's not far enough removed to objectively judge the move as a fan.

“I feel almost like once I leave it’s going to be — I guess I just have to be a fan again and just watching from a different point of view,” Nix said (h/t Oregon Live). “I’m happy that they’re doing what they think is best and Coach (Dan) Lanning’s going to do a good job of putting guys around the team who he thinks are going to win games. I think obviously the transfer portal worked out for me, so hopefully it continues to have a positive effect on college football."

Nix may not be the guy to ask about the Ducks QB room if Oregon brought in Moore if you're looking for a soundbite. Maybe after the Fiesta Bowl.
