The Denver Broncos could keep all three of their quarterbacks -- Bo Nix, Jarrett Stidham, and Zach Wilson -- on their roster entering the 2024 season, or they can do what a cash-strapped team tends to do in the NFL and trade away contracts that are more luxury than necessity.

Stidham's deal is the former at this point. He has the most experience with Sean Payton, but in truth, Bo Nix going down with any sort of serious injury should have the Broncos thinking about QB insurance in the next draft. Stidham keeps Denver just good enough to have their draft slot suffer but not good enough to be a contender in the AFC. After years of suffering, Broncos fans need something sustainable, and Stidham is playing for his next contract, wherever that may be.

Predominantly Orange's Javier Ascoli listed several NFL franchises that could be in the market for a QB2 upgrade who have the chance to save the season if things go south injury-wise or on the field for the starter.

"Teams like the New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams, and Detroit Lions could be interested in trading for Jarrett Stidham, but for the Broncos it would depend on what these teams could offer," Ascoli wrote.

Zach Wilson gained upper hand on Jarrett Stidham during the Broncos' preseason

Wilson significantly improved his standing in the Broncos' QB room this preseason, to the point where NFL.com’s Eric Edholm declared him ahead of Stidham after the preseason opened up as a two-man race between Stidham and Nix.

"With rookie Bo Nix being named the Broncos' Week 1 starter, the question now pivots to how many quarterbacks Sean Payton will opt to roster. Is there room for both Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson? Earlier this summer, Payton said all three could 'possibly' stay on. Both reportedly had encouraging summers during practice, and though neither one looked great against the Packers, Wilson probably was the better of the two this preseason -- even with the regrettable safety vs. Green Bay. Perhaps he can light it up one more time this preseason and harden his chances of making the squad -- or, perhaps, compel a QB-needy team to make an inquiry," Edholm wrote (h/t On SI).

Wilson was the highest drafted of the three, but his career sputtered on the NY Jets. Wilson earning Denver's QB2 role and impressing in spurts when Nix needs to heal up could turn the trajectory of his career around quickly.

That'd leave Stidham as the odd man out, but he's clearly got plenty of NFL options if the Broncos decide he's better off dealt.
