KeAndre Lambert-Smith had to double-take political "influencer" Nick Adams' X post about the NY Giants' No. 6 pick in the 2024 NFL draft, Malik Nabers, in which the self-proclaimed "Alpha Male" called the former LSU star receiver "thuggish" for his attire on draft night.
"Thuggish? I thought the page was fake…people really say this on a public platform (shaking my head)," Lambert-Smith tweeted.
Adams referred to Nabers' inner jacket lining -- which featured pictures of various moments throughout his time as a Bayou Bengal -- as "thuggish arrogance."
"Confidence is a necessary trait in a receiver, but this crossed a line," Adams prefaced before saying, "This is thuggish arrogance. One of the many reasons I don’t have a 1st round grade on Malik Nabers."
KeAndre Lambert-Smith can become first Auburn WR drafted since 2021
We know that down the road, several members of the "Freeze Four" will be drafted to the NFL. Hell, Cam Coleman may end up having a similar draft position to Nabers based on the potential he's flashed thus far in limited practice reps and during his high school career at Central (Phenix City).
But before Coleman, Perry Thompson, Bryce Cain, and Malcolm Simmons realize their pro dreams, Lambert-Smith could become the first Auburn Tiger to be selected in the NFL draft since 2021; when Anthony Schwartz and Seth Williams were selected.
Lambert-Smith won't be in a pass-heavy offense on the Plains with Payton Thorne under center, just as he wasn't while at Penn State. He won't put up the gaudiest of stats relative to many of his SEC peers, but he has the foundation of a solid pro from both a physical and production standpoint.
And we know he'll fight the good fight off the field when needed after he stuck up for Nabers against an out-of-bounds criticism.
