These transfers will visit the Auburn football program
A transfer wide receiver and edge are both set to visit the Auburn football program this weekend
It's day three of the spring window of the NCAA transfer portal and the Auburn football coaching staff is staying busy. They already hosted former Indiana defensive lineman Philip Blidi on campus this week, and the experienced DL left with a high opinion of the Tigers and their program.
This weekend, two more transfers will make their way to the Plains. The first is former Arkansas State edge rusher Keyron Crawford. A 3-star prospect out of high school in Memphis, TN, Crawford played two seasons with the Red Wolves and saw game action in 10 games as a true freshman.
In the 2023 season, Crawford led the team in sacks with 6.5 for 41 yards and had the second most tackles-for-loss with 11.5. Over his 23 game career with Arkansas State, Crawford racked up 59 total tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
The second weekend visit is former Penn State wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith. A veteran receiver with four years of experience under his belt, Lambert-Smith was a 4-star prospect out of high school in Norfolk, VA. He is the only player in Penn State history to record multiple 80-yard receptions and has the 14th-most receptions in program history.
Over his four years with the Nittany Lions, Lambert-Smith racked up 126 receptions for 1,721 yards and 11 touchdowns. His longest reception is 88 yards, and his the 19th Penn State player to go over 100 receptions.
As the transfer portal window moves on, Auburn football is expected to continue working to add players, especially those in the defensive line, pass rushing, and wide receiver position groups. So far, Brenton Williams and JD Rhym are the only players to part ways with the Tigers via the portal.
