Who is playing college football today? Teams, Channels & More
It's officially Week 0 and college football is back! Though the season doesn't officially start until August 31, four games will be played during Week 0 to take the edge off until we get into the swing of things. Auburn football will begin their season on August 31 when they host Alabama A&M in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Florida State vs. Georgia Tech
After missing out on the College Football Playoffs in dramatic fashion, the Seminoles will kick off their season from Dublin, Ireland. Florida State is ranked No. 10 heading into the game while the Yellow Jackets are unranked.
The game is set to start at 11:00 a.m. central time and can be viewed on ESPN.
Montana State vs. New Mexico
This FCS vs. FBS matchup could end up as an upset. Montana State is ranked No. 4 in the FCS preseason poll, and New Mexico is in the midst of a rebuild with new coach Bronco Mendenhall. The Lobos will be looking to make a bowl game for the first time since 2016, and will face off against the Auburn Tigers on September 14.
The game will kick off at 3:00 p.m. central time on Fox Sports 1.
SMU vs. Nevada
A freshly minted member of the ACC, SMU will head to Nevada to take on the Wolf Pack. While the Mustangs may be able to find a respectable level of success this season, Nevada is coming off back-to-back two-win seasons and have a long way to go in their rebuild with new coach Jeff Choate.
The game will kick off at 7:00 p.m. central time on CBS Sports.
Delaware State vs. Hawaii
This game is where things get dicey. Delaware State, an FCS team, won only one game last season and got destroyed by its FBS opponents. On top of that, the Hornets missed their scheduled flight to Honolulu earlier this week and were forced to leave on Wednesday. While the teams are working to rearrange practice schedules, the game is still set for Saturday night.
The Rainbow Warriors and the Hornets play at 11:00 p.m. central on Spectrum Hawaii PPV for local audiences and on Team1 Sports for others.
