Predicting what Auburn's offensive depth chart will look like for 2026 season

Auburn will likely have only one returning starter on the field when the Tigers take on Baylor in the season opener.

Auburn fans will want to keep a roster handy when the 2026 college football season begins, as the Tigers will have plenty of newcomers who are on the field quite a lot for Alex Golesh in his first season on the Plains.

This will be especially true when the Tigers are on offense, as in my way-too-early depth chart for the start of the season, only one player from last year’s squad – Jeremiah Cobb – is in the starting 11.

News faces in Byrum Brown, Keshaun Singleton and Jonathan Echols, among others, have arrived as Golesh and his staff try to revive the Tigers’ offense following a few seasons of mediocre play. Here’s an early look at how the offensive depth chart might stand when the Tigers take on Baylor in Atlanta to begin the 2026 season.

Quarterback

Starter: Byrum Brown - Sure, he had a bad A-Day Game, but as Gus Malzahn pointed out, so did a guy by the name of Cam Newton. While Brown won’t reach that level of greatness, he should be an upgrade at the position after the days of Jackson Arnold and Payton Thorne.

Backup: Tristan T’ia

Running Back

Starter: Jeremiah Cobb - Cobb finally got his shot to show he could be the main guy last season after Damari Alston’s injury and ultimate departure, and he showed he could be relied on. I’m predicting the senior to go for more than 1,000 yards on the ground this season with double-digit touchdowns.

Backups: Bryson Washington, Omar Mabson

Wide Receivers

Starters: Keshaun Singleton, Jeremiah Koger, Chas Nimrod

If you had the Freeze Four, then these three could be called the Golesh Trifecta, as they all came from USF, along with a slew of other players. Singleton is the most talented of the bunch and should be able to put up some major yards in this offense. Don’t overlook the fact that all three are familiar with Brown and have chemistry with the quarterback.

Backups: Bryce Cain, Sam Turner, Brian Williams, Duke Smith, Christian Neptune

Tight Ends

Starter: Jonathan Echols

Backups: Jake Johnson, Xavier Newsom, Arlis Boardingham

Offensive Line

Starters: Stanton Ramil (LT), Deryc Plazz (LG), Cole Best (C), Cole Skinner (RG), Jo Simmons (RT)

All five being new starters, the chemistry must be built early and often. Best seems like a capable replacement for Connor Lew, while Ramil could finally be the answer at left tackle that has puzzled Auburn for some time.

Backups: Kail Ellis, Jacobe Ward, Wilson Zierer, Tai Buster, Jack Leyrer
