Auburn football players discuss taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide in this weekend's Iron Bowl
Tomorrow afternoon, the Auburn football team will take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa for the 2024 Iron Bowl. The Tigers are coming off of a huge, momentum-building win over the Texas A&M Aggies last weekend in 4OT, and are hoping to shock the world with a victory over the Tide to cap off the season.
Meanwhile, Alabama is coming off an intense 24-3 loss against the Oklahoma Sooners, their third loss of the season, and one that greatly lessens the Tide's chances of getting into this year's playoff even with the 12-team field.
This year, there isn't a whole lot on the line for either team, and it's just good old-fashioned hate between rivals. Here's what Auburn football players have had to say heading into the game this week.
RB Jarquez Hunter on momentum, per Auburn Rivals:
“I feel like this gave us a lot of momentum going into the Iron Bowl. I think we got confidence going in knowing we can beat Alabama at Alabama.”
WR Cam Coleman on facing the Tide, per Auburn Undercover:
"It's revenge tour. We're going to their place. We are going to go in their crib and just take over. We are going to have fun while we're doing it. These are some of the last memories that we make with each other. We are going to make it a memorable game."
OL Jeremiah Wright on the offensive line's mentality, per Auburn Rivals:
“We’re ready to go out there and dominate and be physical. That’s what we expect coming up Saturday."
S Jerrin Thompson on Red River Rivalry vs. Iron Bowl, per Auburn Rivals:
“Texas-OU is pretty much the same every year. You know what you're gonna get. All my teammates telling me that it's gonna be the best game I've ever been a part of. They said it's better here at Jordan-Hare, but I'm just looking forward to it and excited to go out one more time.”
Auburn and Alabama will kick off from Bryant-Denny Stadium at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow.
