Wake up the echoes, because Auburn is finally going to play Notre Dame on the football field.
Auburn athletics made the announcement official.
"Auburn will visit historic Notre Dame Stadium on Sept. 25, 2027, for the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The Fighting Irish will travel to Jordan-Hare Stadium for the return game on October 28, 2028."

Somehow, the Tigers and Irish have never met on the football field, despite each school having a program dating back to before 1900. Notre Dame boasts 11 national championships in its history, but the last one came in 1988, with Lou Holtz at the helm. Marcus Freeman led the Irish to the College Football Playoff title game last season before falling to Ohio State.
An already difficult schedule for the Tigers just became even more daunting in 2027, as Auburn travels to Notre Dame, Texas, Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Kentucky, while home games include Alabama, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Georgia, and South Carolina.
