Yesterday at Sprayberry High School, Marrietta, Georgia native and 2015 Auburn commit Bailey Sharp donned an Under Armour All-American jersey to announce his inclusion in the next edition of the Under Armour All-American Game. Sharp will join fellow Auburn commits Kerryon Johnson, Jordan Colbert and D’Anfernee McGriff in the event.

Sharp, whose father played collegiately at Southern Miss, has been committed to the Tigers since April. He chose Auburn over at least 14 other scholarship offers from schools such as Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and South Carolina.

“He’s a phenomenal kid,” Sharp’s high school head coach Billy Shackelford said at the ceremony. “His dad is a former coach, teacher and administrator and his mother is a teacher and administrator. He had no option, but to be a quality student and he is. I believe he carries a 3.6 GPA or around there. He really is a phenomenal kid. He’s good with younger kids, and is a role model for them. He has that ability to be nice off the field, and then turn into an animal on the field.”

The 6-foot-5, 280-pound Sharp is considered a three-star prospect by 247Sports. He is ranked as the 32nd best player in the state of Georgia, and the 35th best tackle in the nation by the 247Sports Composite. Sharp has been ranked 331st nationally overall by 247. ESPN ranks Sharp as Georgia’s 26th best player, the 20th best tackle in the country, and 228th overall.

“On the field, he brings agility and athleticism to his position,” Shackleford said. “There are a lot of big guys out there, but Bailey is a mobile athlete at tackle. He can block the edge, block on the perimeter and play in space.”

You can view Sharp’s high school highlights here, through Hudl, or you can see him in action in person when the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets host North Springs this Friday.

Though he has remained committed to Auburn, 247Sports and its Crystal Ball predictor believes there is still a 15% chance Sharp could flip to Georgia by National Signing Day in February 2015.
