Like Arkansas, Tennessee has excelled at earning moral victories this year, but simply can’t get over the hump and actually win an SEC football game. The same was true last week when the Vols rallied from a 28-0 first half deficit against Alabama, but fell 34-20.

But, there was a little bit of a different feel last week in Knoxville than we’ve seen this year. Joshua Dobbs saw his first action of the season in the loss, and actually provided the Tennessee offense with a spark. He threw for 192 yards on 19-of-32 passing and provides a dual threat that was missing with Justin Worley and Nathan Peterman.

However, South Carolina is also coming off an uplifting (but still losing) performance. The Gamecocks rolled up over 500 yards of offense against Auburn, but turned the ball over three times and couldn’t stop the Tigers in a 42-35 loss.

That’s been the problem for the 4-4 Gamecocks; they can’t top anyone. But, they should shop the Vols just enough to win by a touchdown.
