One of the biggest positions of need for Auburn heading into 2015 is wide receiver. The Tigers lost Quan Bray to graduation and Sammie Coates to the NFL, and though D’haquille Williams will be back, the rest of the receiving corps lacks the sort of name recognition and career production one would hope for heading into the season.
A big target that could help is DeVante Peete, and the Tigers are expected to host the Pompano Beach, Florida native on January 30. Peete confirmed he will visit the Plains via Twitter last week.
Louisville – where Peete visited January 24 – is believed to be the leader for the 6-foot-5 wideout, and Miami is also in the mix. The Tigers could make a big push, especially since they have lost out on John Burt, but Peete’s still a bit of a long shot.
