Want to know how good five-star standout CeCe Jefferson is? Just ask Baker County High School head football coach Tom MacPherson.
“I only got to see him play two games for me. It’s my first year on the job, but he’s as good as advertised. He’s one of the most explosive players I’ve ever seen in person,” McPherson told the Orlando Sentinel.

“He’s a dominant pass rusher and just one of those guys who takes over a game before the game even begins. Teams change their game plan because of him.”
That’s high praise and gives great insight as to why college coaches from around the country have been lining up to recruit the 6-foot-2, 275-pound defensive end since he was in the ninth grade.
But the coach also made sure to mention Jefferson’s maturity at this stage of his life, which is extremely important given the microscope players of his caliber are under as high-profile prospects.
Whoever lands Jefferson Wednesday will get one of the best players in the nation. Right now, Ole Miss appears to have the inside track and he visited LSU over the weekend, but Jefferson has a good relationship with Will Muschamp, who made Jefferson a heavy lean to Florida when Muschamp was the head coach in Gainesville.
Muschamp’s firing put Auburn in the mix, but the Gators aren’t completely off the radar yet, either. It would be an upset if Jefferson signed with the Tigers, but it’s not out of the question by any stretch of the imagination.
