A long-time commit, Jalen Harris doesn’t carry the name recognition of some of the four- and five-star prospects that make up the majority of the 2015 Auburn recruiting class. However, that doesn’t mean he isn’t one of the most valuable future Tigers to sign his national letter of intent.

Head coach Gus Malzahn has a long-standing reputation as one of the greatest offensive minds in all of football, and at least part of that success stems from the blocking schemes his teams have utilized in the past – primarily in regards to tight ends and H-backs. Though they often go unnoticed by fans, those players carry a lot of responsibility to open holes for ball carriers.
With the graduation of C.J. Uzomah and Brandon Fulse, Malzahn has very few experienced options to turn to in 2015. That’s where Harris comes in.
“Be prepared to work when I get here, that’s what they told me,” Harris said following his official visit in mid-January. “They think I have a real good chance of playing and I’m going to be ready to report. They have one tight end on the roster with some walk-ons. They have Kamryn Pettway and Chandler Cox at H-back, so I’ll be playing a lot of tight end.”
And it wouldn’t be a shock to see him playing very early in his Auburn career.
