One of the highest rated commits in the 2015 Auburn recruiting class since he jumped on board in July of 2014, outside linebacker Richard McBryde is one of the most intriguing prospects to sign with the Tigers this year. At 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, McBryde isn’t the biggest linebacker, but he’s agile, quick, strong and explosive.

Basically, he’s a heat-seeking missile that is likely to make plenty of highlight worthy big hits on Saturdays.
McBryde has shown flashes of top end pass rushing ability in high school, and is athletic enough to become a solid defender in coverage.
The biggest issue McBryde will have to face in college is staying under control. There are times when he is too aggressive, over runs plays, and struggles to take proper angles. He’s got tremendous upside and potential, but needs some fine-tuning before he becomes a contributor on defense.
Luckily, Auburn is deep at the linebacker position and McBryde won’t be asked to carry much responsibility early. He should play on special teams as a true freshman, however.
