At the conclusion of SEC Media Days, the SEC released the lists of the media’s preseason All-SEC teams. The Auburn football team did not land a single player on the preseason first-team All-SEC roster.

Before any official preseason rankings are released. I pen this open letter to all media outlets to continue to low ball Auburn football as much as possible. This shouldn’t be a hard task because Auburn has never been the media’s darling. I mean really, I was a student when the campus was under the threat of a supposed mass shooter in 2014 and I watched as CNN told the country that Auburn was a school in West Georgia.

But we’re used to it. Auburn unfortunately shares the state with the University of Alabama. The Crimson Tide are dominant in the sport of football and Auburn also must fight their rival for control of the toughest division in the toughest conference of the country. When you’re Auburn you are prone to getting overlooked, but don’t do that to us just yet.

SEC prediction: Really, it's 3-team race for SEC supremacy

Underestimate us, but watch us. We understand that you are disinterested in subscribing to our drama and because we are dramatic and unpredictable you are reluctant in providing us with any hype at all. We are like the crazy girl on The Bachelor that everyone verbally hates but secretly roots for because she’s so labile. Nobody can stand her but they also don’t want her to go home because she’s too fun to watch. She’s the one that will create all of the drama, but not necessarily finish it. She might come extremely close to winning the rose, but be eliminated because she had a meltdown in the second half, or maybe she couldn’t quite deliver in the end zone. Either way, Auburn has a love for creating chaos.

History shows Auburn performs extremely well when it goes into the season under-hyped with huge chips on its shoulders. Like the crazy girl on The Bachelor, Auburn men aren’t really after a rose. They are out to prove that they are worthy adversaries. These guys want something for the heart.

Media grab your tissues, wine and chips and brace yourself for Auburn’s hot mess of a journey to the finale.
