Preseason All-SEC (media vote)

OK, our thoughts on this one have been made clear: The voters are wrong. But that’s OK because FlyWarEagle’s Shea Brennaman had this to say about the Tigers being overlooked.

Why?

Because not a single Auburn football player was voted to the preseason All-SEC first-team. Considering the Tigers should open the season in the top 10, you would think at least one player would have made it.

Still, Auburn did place nine players on the three teams. Here’s who made it:

Second-team

QB Jarrett Stidham
WR Ryan Davis
DL Derrick Brown
LB Deshaun Davis
DB Jamel Dean

Third-team

OL Marquel Harrell
DL Dontavius Russell
DL Marlon Davidson
DB Javaris Davis

For the most part, every Auburn player who should be on the list made it with an exception or two. We also feel strongly there are some players flying under the radar right now who will burst onto the scene in 2018.
