Auburn football: Ranking top 10 Tigers through first four games of 2018

3. Anthony Schwartz
What more can we say about Anthony Schwartz?
The track star/wide receiver arrived on campus at the tail end of the summer (his track scheduled wouldn’t get him to Auburn any earlier) and he quickly picked up things.
He’s seen his playing time and impact on the game increase every week.
Against Washington, he was in on limited plays and didn’t have a touch. Against Alabama State, he caught a 57-yard TD pass and scored on a 23-yard reverse. Against LSU he was one of Auburn’s top receivers and again last week against Arkansas.
There’s no way around it: Auburn has to find ways to get him the ball more. When he’s on the field, he has to be accounted for and whether or not Auburn gets him the ball, his presence should create openings.
Malzahn had good things to say about him this week.
“He’s a football-intelligent guy and the moment isn’t too big for him,” Malzahn said. “He’s a confident guy and he protects the football. He wasn’t here very much at all during the summer because of track. He’s been a pleasant surprise at how quick he has caught on.”
Sounds like a bigger role awaits Schwartz.
