The Tigers are already getting to work on their 2020 recruiting class.

Auburn signed four wide receivers in their 2019 recruiting class — three of which were four-star recruits. But that hasn’t stopped the Tigers from going out and pursuing elite high school talent and prepare for the future.

The latest recruit to receive an Auburn offer was 2022 wide receiver, Phaizon Wilson. A 6-foot-4, 200-pound prospect from Lancaster high school in Lancaster, Texas, Wilson is rated as the 33rd best WR prospect in the nation and the 246th overall recruit according to 247Sports.

Wilson announced that he received a scholarship offer from the Tigers via his Twitter account.

Despite being just a sophomore this past season, Wilson has already received significant attention from other major programs such as Alabama, Florida and Texas. In total, Wilson has 16 D-I offers according to his 247Sports recruiting page.

Last season, Wilson helped lead the Lancaster Tigers to an 11-3 overall record and a first-place finish in the Texas District 6 – 5A standings.

While the Tigers stacked up on receivers during the 2020 recruiting cycle, Auburn hasn’t signed any WRs in the 2021 class while the Tigers two commits in the 2022 class are both cornerbacks.

As far as the receivers currently on the roster for Auburn, the team has two rising juniors in Seth Williams and Anthony Schwartz who are both expected to have big seasons in 2020. Additionally, redshirt senior Eli Stove is expected to make a significant impact.

The four true freshmen receivers from the Tigers’ 2020 class are Kobe Hudson, Ze’Vian Capers, J.J. Evans, and three-star Elijah Canion. At the same time, two Auburn receivers, Marquis McClain and Jashawn Sheffield have both recently announced their decision to transfer
