Auburn is taking no breaks in pursuing some of the top talent in the class of 2022.
Bruce Pearl and his staff are working hard to pursue some of the top prospects in the class of 2022. This week, Auburn basketball has offered scholarships to three rising juniors at a variety of positions.
The state of Texas has always been a hotbed of talent in both football and basketball and Auburn has taken notice as the team has offered trio teammates of Texas AAU team DriveNation 2022.
The biggest offer of the four went to five-star center Lee Dort. Dort, a 6-foot-10 big out of Addison, Texas is rated by the 247Sports composite rankings as the No. 2 center in the class and No. 13 overall recruit.
Dort has already received offers from major programs such as Kansas, Baylor and Texas Tech to name a few. Auburn is the fifth SEC school to offer the rising junior joining Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Mississippi State and Texas A&M.
The Tigers also offered Richardson high school shooting guard Rylan Griffen. Griffen is currently a four-star prospect and top 100 recruit in the class of 2022. The 6-foot-5 two-guard is the backcourt mate of fellow Richardson star Cason Wallace, who Auburn offered earlier in the month.
The third and final DriveNation 2022 player to receive an offer from Pearl and Auburn was combo guard Noah Shelby. Shelby, a three-star prospect, is high school teammates with Dort at the Greenhill School and rated as the No. 8 combo guard in the class.
Shelby took to Twitter to announce his offer from the Tigers which is now one of 12 offers he has received. Shelby has received heavy interest from schools such as Arizona State, Baylor, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.
Auburn has yet to receive any commitments from any 2022 prospect but they have been active in pursuing the top talent in the class.
As for the Tigers’ most recent recruiting class, Bruce Pearl was able to sign the first top-10 class in program history headlined by five-star point guard Sharife Cooper and four-star power forward and top-50 recruit JT Thor.
