New Auburn football HC Bryan Harsin has finally completed his coaching staff after a roller coaster ride of a search, and now the people are weighing in the hire of DL coach Nick Eason.
After former hire Tracy Rocker jumped ship to coach for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL, Harsin looked to that very league for a replacement and found a man with 10 years of playing experience and eight years of coaching.
Ben Baby, who covers the Cincinnati Bengals, tweeted his approval of the former Cincinnati coach’s move:
Auburn football fans, perhaps feeling a little slighted by Tracy Rocker’s quick departure for the NFL, praised the hire of Nick Eason. Rocker was, after all, an Auburn alumnus and former player.
Another former Tiger, Daren Bates–a former linebacker and defensive terror himself–praised the new D-line coach. Bates played Auburn football for four seasons, from 2009-2012, and was a member of the 2010 National Championship Team.
As always–and in agreement with Auburn Associate Athletic Director Brad Larrondo–we wish Tracy Rocker all the best in the NFL, but we’re liking the Nick Eason hire here at Fly War Eagle just as much as everyone else.
War Eagle, Mr. Eason!
