Auburn football defensive lineman Jaren Handy took to Twitter yesterday to compliment new head coach Bryan Harsin’s inaugural staff.
Handy, a sophomore from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, was a four star recruit from Auburn’s recruiting class of 2019. ESPN named him the No. 8 recruit out of the state of Mississippi. He hit the field in seven games his Freshman season, and racked up seven total tackles.
Tiger fans replied eagerly to Jaren Handy’s tweets, and the defensive lineman shared thoughts on his future as a football player on the Plains and his game. Handy comes in hot with a clear determination to better his game and that of the Auburn football team as a whole.
Handy also commented on spring workouts, which recently began on January 25th. The Auburn football program welcomed a new strength and conditioning coach in Jeff Pitman, who previously worked with Bryan Harsin at Boise State.
Fly War Eagle recently reported HC Bryan Harsin’s thoughts on the new coach, and Handy tweeted out a little insight on Coach Eason–Tracy Rocker’s replacement–as Auburn’s d-line coach:
As Auburn fans, we should be hugely encouraged by Jaren Handy’s confidence in the coaching staff. After the chaotic coaching search and the fallout of many players seeming unhappy with the staffing switch-up, it’s great that we are hearing how happy this talented returning player is with the new coaches.
It will be exciting to see what the 2021-22 season brings for Jaren Handy, who could be gunning for a place in the starting lineup. At this point, we’re certainly rooting for him.
