Malik Dunbar will be joining fellow former Auburn Tigers Desean Murray and Danjel Purifoy on the 2021 team. They will be applying to compete in The Basketball Tournament, known as TBT, this summer in Tampa.
It will be the Auburn team’s fourth year competing in the tournament, and fans are hoping to see the team go further than last year, where they fell in round one to a team of former Illinois Illini alumni.
Last year’s team featured only three former Tigers, but at this rate, it’s looking like the 2021 roster could be a 2019 team reunion. We have to admit that we don’t hate the sound of that.
With Chuma Okeke playing for the Orlando Magic and the Bryce Brown/Jared Harper duo teaming up on the Westchester Knicks, it’s not likely we’ll see those guys committing to the 2021 team. Personally, I’m holding out hope for big names like J’von McCormick and Samir Doughty.
