The Big Kat Bryant saga–one that has taken him away from the Auburn football program to Tennessee and back–has now seemingly reached its conclusion.

After it seemed he was on his way back to the Plains to play for Bryan Harsin in 2021 after initially having his eyes on the NFL before reneging…and then reneging once more in his commitment to join the ridiculous ruckus on Rocky Top, Bryant appears ready to take his talents to Norman, via friend of Fly War Eagle, Jake “Jboy” Crain:

The University of Oklahoma has had a busy offseason, gaining (and losing) some key names in the transfer portal.

Robert Congel will be making the move east from the Arizona Wildcats to bring the Sooners offensive line more size and experience. The fourth-year junior weighs in at over 320 pounds and stands at six-foot-four and should allow Spencer Rattler, one of college football’s most exciting quarterbacks, to feel safe and empowered to lead a Sooners squad projected by ESPN to be the #3 team in 2021 behind Clemson and Alabama.

Wanya Morris out of Tennessee also joins Congel as a key transfer on the offensive line, hoping to form a pass protection unit of a potential offensive powerhouse. Like Bryant, Morris saw greener pastures away from the muddied waters in Knoxville.

Finally, if there were a worst-case scenario and Rattler was unable to grace the gridiron for any portion of the 2021 season, Penn State transfer Micah Bowens will be competing for the snaps in those emergency scenarios.

Bryant is the biggest impact addition on the defensive side of the ball, joining a team that ranked second in the Big 12 in scoring defense (21.7 points) and run defense (105.1 yards) while ranking third in total defense (350.6) (via ESPN Senior Writer Mark Schlabach).

The loss is one that Auburn football fans have been expecting after watching Bryant plan two different exits from the Plains.

Either way, Fly War Eagle wishes Bryant luck in the next chapter of his football story.
