Auburn football head coach Bryan Harsin and his staff may be working their way onto 3-star wide receiver Jay Fair’s good side. After all, he announced on Twitter that he will be officially visiting the Plains, which makes only his second official school visit.

The Rockwall, Texas native had been cultivating strong relationships with TCU and Texas A&M, but soon national interest kicked in and Fair currently has 25 offers from Power 5 schools all over the country. However, Fair has only set official visits for two schools: TCU and Auburn. Fair is set to visit TCU on June 4, 2021, and Auburn on June 18, 2021, both official visits.

Fair currently plays for Rockwall-Heath High School and finished his 2020-21 season with 73 receptions for 1,303 yards and 12 touchdowns. He averaged 17.8 yards per catch and 100 yards per game in a season that ended in a tough playoff loss for Rockwall-Heath.

Fair was selected for the all-district first team as a junior, and 247 Sports named him as a top-five offensive player at the Under Armour All-American Dallas camp series.

"Not many route runners as smooth as Rockwall (Texas) Heath’s Jay Fair who explode through position drills and had a strong showing during 1-on-1s. Adjusts to the ball well, bursts out of his cuts and has nice hands. TCU and Texas A&M are a couple offers he’s high on with Ohio State, Alabama and Oregon being a few others in touch."

Auburn football has offered 32 wide receivers for the recruiting class of 2022 so far but no commits in the position. Only three athletes have committed to the program in the class of 2022: Holden Geriner, Powell Gordon, and Jarell Stinson. Other top wide receiver targets for the Tigers include Latreal Jones and Darrius Clemons.

The Auburn football program may be inching ahead of Texas A&M’s in Jay Fair’s eyes, but the Tigers’ toughest competition will come from TCU. A visit to the Plains will surely help Fair make the right decision.
