Former Auburn football wide receiver Anthony Schwartz is gearing up for the 2021 NFL Draft but still had time to check in on the Tigers over the weekend as they participated in the annual spring scrimmage in Jordan-Hare Stadium. Over 25,000 fans were in attendance as new head coach Bryan Harsin gave the Auburn family a glimpse of their 2021 Auburn Tigers.
Most fans anticipated seeing the new style of offense implemented in the A-Day action and the Tigers did not disappoint. Harsin had veteran quarterback Bo Nix playing under center and dishing out passes to wide receivers that will be looking to make a name for themselves in the coming season as they replace the talented starters that came before them (including Schwartz himself).
The offensive coaching staff utilized multiple tight ends on the field at once and had the receivers running various routes all over the field, proving that the Harsin era will bring change and progress to Auburn football’s offense:
Due to the Tigers losing several key starters at the wide receiver position, this will an area that the Auburn offense will certainly need to work on heading into the fall. With Anthony Schwartz, Eli Stove, and Seth Williams, all former WR starters on the Plains, hoping to hear their names called in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Tigers will have to rely more heavily on their experienced running back corps to carry the offense.
Tank Bigsby and Shaun Shivers will be the driving force behind the offense as Elijah Canion, Kobe Hudson, and several other promising young wide receivers gain experience in gameplay. Though in the past Auburn fans are used to a strong defense and a questionable offense, Bryan Harsin should be able to coach the Auburn football team to where they’re a threat on both sides of the ball.
