Allen Greene is the coolest guy on the Plains. He chooses the right shades every game day he graces the stands at Jordan-Hare for Auburn football Saturdays, and he chose the right head coach in the biggest coaching search in his young career as Athletic Director at AU.

Bryan Harsin is in tow, and his hiring has inspired hope for a fanbase that has been getting hit in the gut with poor bowl game results for a majority of the Gus Malzahn era. A-Day saw the team’s depth chart flash improvement at key spots, and the team’s stars have the collective buzz around the team moving in the right direction.

Tank Bigsby is being talked about in the same sentence as the Heisman trophy in a legitimate fashion, and Bo Nix is also being mentioned in the same sentence as the Heisman in a way that brings joy to the Auburn family.

With a proven winner ready for the challenge stepping up to bat as the leader of the Auburn football locker room, Greene has his most valuable program riding high heading into what should be one of the most spirited school years ever post-COVID-19 in 2021-22.

Noted SEC Network host Paul Finebaum gave Greene his due on his radio program (transcript via 247Sports):

"“I don’t think, in the first year, we are going to be able to get a good read. I think Allen Greene got it right. Of the four SEC coaches hired in the offseason, I think Bryan Harsin was the best hire. We may not see it immediately, but I think ultimately we will.”"

2021 is going to be an uphill battle for the Harsinal, but winning is inevitable when a program with a rich history meets a coach with a storied past himself.

Assuming hell doesn’t freeze over and Josh Heupel doesn’t lead Tennessee to the prodigious heights fans on Rocky Top have for the Vols, Harsin will prove to be an offseason-winning HC hire by Greene.
