K.J. Britt won the Auburn football NFL Draft lottery. While fellow defensive stud–and apparently an LB in the pros–Jamien Sherwood was selected to the New York Jets, Britt is now bound for the defending Super Bowl Champions.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers feature the G.O.A.T at the QB position, Tom Brady, as well as a defense that shut down Patrick Mahomes during Super Bowl LV.
Not only that, but two notable former Tigers will be sharing the locker room with the MIKE LB. Carlton Davis and Jamel Dean, a former teammate of Britt’s in 2018, just won their first championship rings.
Perhaps Britt could join in on the fun, even if he may not see the field immediately in any regular role. Lavonte David and Devin White figure to be featured ahead of Britt in year one, but opportunity could strike at any time in the NFL.
Britt was the third former Auburn football star taken off the board during the 2021 NFL Draft, with the 176th pick taken:
The Bucs have selected Auburn linebacker KJ Britt with the 176th overall pick in the draft. He provides inside linebacker depth and can help on special teams. He was the Tigers' top tackler before thumb surgery.

Despite the thumb injury that kept Britt out of nine games in the 2020 season, he still stands to be an impact player for the Bucs, according to The Athletic reporter Greg Auman, who says “Auburn has been good to the Bucs’ defense.”
New Bucs linebacker K.J. Britt played just two games last fall with a thumb injury, but gives them new depth at inside linebacker and help on special teams. Only 14 college starts, but was second-team All-SEC in 2019.

Auburn tigers still available in the draft include Seth Williams, Eli Stove, Christian Tutt, and Jordyn Peters.
