A potential cornerback trade could be in the cards for Auburn football and the Tennessee Volunteers. Junior college CB Roterius Torrence was committed to the Vols for just eight days before changing course and re-opening his recruitment.

Torrence was set to join Auburn cornerback transfer Kamal Hadden on the Vols’ roster, but now it looks as though the JUCO product could be joining the Tigers instead. Just hours after announcing his de-commitment from UT, Torrence tweeted out his offer from the Auburn football program.

The cornerback could be a late addition to the roster due to the junior college football season being played in the spring this year. Torrence has had an impressive year at Hutchinson Community College, who will compete for the JUCO championship on Saturday, per College and Magnolia.

Torrence racked up 20 tackles, including three tackles for loss, and six pass breakups in seven games so far this season. Originally from Bessemer, AL, the opportunity to play closer to home may help seal the deal for the Tigers.

According to Auburn Wire, Roterius Torrence is expected to make his college decision this week, and he’s been speaking frequently with Auburn’s cornerbacks coach Zac Etheridge, who was mentioned in his offer announcement.

"“He’s been talking to me for a minute,” Torrence said. “Then I kind of settled on Tennessee. It kind of picked up and it went from there. We’ve talked a lot on the phone. We’ve had long conversations.”"

Should he choose the Tigers, Torrence will join a cornerbacks room that is full of talent. Leading the pack is Roger McCreary, who elected to return to school for his senior year rather than enter the draft, in addition to Nehemiah Pritchett, Jaylin Simpson, and WVU transfer Dreshun Miller.

We should find out for sure where Torrence will land later this week.
