Everyone knew that when Gus Malzahn was fired from the helm of the Auburn football team there would be major changes to the program, changes that were long overdue. Bryan Harsin arrived on the Plains at the end of December and retained only one of Malzahn’s staff members before reloading the Tigers’ with his own staff and kicking off a reset of the program.

Coach Harsin has made it clear to fans, players, and recruits that things are going to be different for Auburn, something that not everyone is on board with. The Tigers’ defense lost five players to the transfer portal in a matter of days, and several offensive players jumped ship as well.

However, the Harsinal wasted no time in replenishing the roster with major pickups from the JUCO market as well as the transfer portal. Whether you like it or not, there is a new regime on the Plains and Auburn football is coming for the title this year.

Even former players can see the change in the air. Trovon Reed, the former wide receiver and cornerback, tweeted his locker room observations this morning claiming that the atmosphere is just plain different:

According to AuburnTigers.com, Coach Harsin made a point to reach out to former players via zoom call, and it inspired Trovon Reed to visit with the new coach and even attend the open practice at Jordan-Hare Stadium in the spring.

"“Come and see how Coach Harsin runs things,” said Reed, an aspiring coach who played four seasons in the NFL after helping Auburn win two SEC championships from 2010-14. “We talked about it but now I get to see it with my eyes. I’m loving it so far. I think we have some good guys who are ready to play in his system. I’m looking for a successful season. I know he and all his coaches are. It’s going to be a great year.”"

The leadership of Bryan Harsin is clearly making an impact on the Auburn football team, and it will be exciting to see that come to fruition on the football field in the fall.
