Nick Eason and Bryan Harsin are on the hunt for talented defensive linemen on the recruiting trail as Eason is looking to rebuild the defensive front for Auburn football. There was good news from the state of Louisiana as Maxie Baudoin IV announced his top five programs and the Tigers found themselves in the mix for the talented defensive lineman.
Maxie Baudoin IV is a 3-star defensive tackle out of Youngsville, LA, and ranks as the #440 overall player and #65 DL in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Baudoin was a 1st-Team All-District selection last season and possesses elite versatility, which allows him to play all across the defensive front.
Baudoin caught up with Auburn Undercover last week on his official visit to the Plains and had this to say about Auburn football:
"“Auburn is definitely at the top of my list. Just the place. I love Auburn; the city, the campus.”"
Baudoin was also asked about his commitment plans:
"“Sometime before next season. Early fall”"
When asked about Nick Eason; Baudoin spoke highly of the new Auburn defensive line coach:
"“I like Coach Eason a lot. I like his personality. He’s a great coach and coached a lot of great NFL guys too. He told me they could use me in multiple different positions if I come over here and do different things. I think I could be very successful here if I out in the hard work.”"
Baudoin also included Georgia, Florida, Texas A&M, and USC in his final five, along with Auburn. Expect this to be an SEC battle since Georgia and Texas A&M will be the biggest contenders for the talented defensive tackle out of Louisiana.
Baudoin would fill an immediate need for the Tigers and could earn some significant playing time as a freshman due to some question marks along the Auburn football defensive line. J.J. Pegues was Baudoin’s player ambassador and they could combine to be one of the most dominant duos in the SEC if Baudoin finds his way to the Plains.
Nick Eason has flexed his muscle on the recruiting trail since he was hired by Bryan Harsin. Auburn football might be in the driver’s seat in this recruitment, so keep an eye on Baudoin and the Tigers this fall as the race heats up.
