As June comes to a close, the temperatures are rising and so is the recruiting stock of 3-star tight end Colston Loveland. The Idaho native is one of the latest class of 2022 targets for Auburn football head coach Bryan Harsin and his new staff, who are now competing with those on their old turf for Loveland.

That’s right, Loveland also holds an offer from the Boise State Broncos, the former school of Bryan Harsin, and one in Loveland’s home state. The No. 1 recruit out of the state of Idaho, Loveland has four official visits scheduled so far according to his recruiting profile on 247Sports. He’s traveled to both Arizona and Arizona State in addition to Oregon State, and he’ll head to Michigan on June 25.

However, the Boise State Broncos are pushing hard for the state’s top-ranked recruit, and Boise State commit Katin Houser is working to keep the tight end in the state:

Though Loveland seems to be more popular on the other side of the country, the Auburn offer is Loveland’s second from the SEC this month. Ed Orgeron and LSU offered the tight end earlier this month, and Alabama offered in March. Loveland credited his offer to both Brad Bedell and Bryan Harsin on Twitter, two coaches who were previously at Boise State.

If Loveland is looking to get out of the midwest and into the SEC, Bedell and Harsin could offer him a little bit of home down on the Plains. According to GBM Wolverine, Loveland planned to officially visit Colorado but cancelled the trip to visit Michigan instead, which could indicate that the tight end is looking to play for higher caliber schools, in which case the SEC would be the place to be.

Loveland’s recruiting stock seems to be on the rise, and should he continue to receive offers from big-time schools like Auburn it may seriously shake up his recruitment process.
