The wide receiver position is definitely one of need for the Auburn football team heading into the future of Bryan Harsin’s regime, and one of the WR targets had a great visit to the Plains over the weekend. Jay Fair, a native of Rockwall, TX, spent his last official visit before his final decision in Auburn.
Prior to meeting up with Bryan Harsin and the Tigers, Fair officially visited both Texas Christian University and Florida earlier in the month. Horned Frog Blitz reports that Fair is high on the priority list for TCU, and his high school teammate and friend Chace Biddle is also being recruited hard by the school.
According to SI Nation, Fair enjoyed both the campus and facilities of the Gators’ program and said seeing it in person did the school justice, but his words were nowhere near as complimentary as those for Auburn.
The 3-star receiver described his trip to the Plains as “one of the best visits I’ve had” and still has his scholarship offer from the Tigers pinned to the top of his Twitter profile:
Auburn Undercover’s Jason Caldwell reports that spending time with his potential coaches was extremely important to the receiver and he felt like a priority while on the Auburn campus.
"“Really just the relationship with them and the staff,” Fair said of what stands out about the Tigers. “They are a very close staff. Their relationships and development, I really feel like they’re in for a change this year as far as their offense goes. They believe in it just as well as I believe in them.“I would rate the visit at 9.5 (out of 10),” he added. “A strong 9.5.”"
The official visit to Auburn was Fair’s last before he’ll be making a decision, which is expected in early July. It seems as though head coach Bryan Harsin and the Auburn football team are in a good spot with the receiver, and hopefully, he’ll be added to the roster soon.
