Bo knows. Auburn football Bo Jackson spoke out in support of Las Vegas Raiders DE Carl Nassib–who recently came out as the first openly gay NFL player on a roster–following the Penn State product’s proclamation.
Jackson said on his official Twitter page that he is proud of the 28-year-old 2016 NFL Draft third-round draft pick.
He also said that Raider Nation and the entire country stand with him in support following the announcement.

Mizzou alum and 2014 NFL Draft seventh-rounder Michael Sam came out as gay in 2014 but never saw a second of regular-season action. Nassib is the first active player to make such a statement public.
And he has the full support of Auburn football’s most legendary player from the 20th century in Jackson.
This was the transcript of Nassib’s Instagram post where he made the statement public (transcript via Yahoo):
"“I just wanted to take a quick moment to say that I’m gay,” Nassib said Monday in a video on Instagram. “I’ve been meaning to do this for a while now but finally feel comfortable getting it off my chest. I really have the best life, the best family, friends and job a guy can ask for.”“I’m a pretty private person, so I hope you guys know that I’m not doing this for attention,” Nassib continued. “I just think that representation and visibility are so important. I actually hope that one day, videos like this and the whole coming out process are not necessary, but until then I will do my best and my part to cultivate a culture that’s accepting and compassionate.”"
Fly War Eagle would like to offer our support to Nassib as well as he deals with the aftermath of his historic announcement.
