After being patient for most of the summer, Auburn football fans may finally have another recruit to welcome to the Plains. SEC insider JBoy and his team predicted today that 4-star defensive lineman Caden Story will commit to the Tigers.
Story would be the fourth recruit added to Auburn’s class of 2022, which right now is made up of just three prospects: Powell Gordon, Jarell Stinson, and Holden Geriner. Auburn’s class of 2022 is currently ranked last in the SEC, largely due to the fact that there are so few members.
The Lanett, AL native is ranked as the #11 player in the state of Alabama and the #30 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2022. He is being recruited hard by Texas A&M and UCF in addition to the Tigers, but he canceled his visit to TAMU.
Story took two unofficial visits to the Plains in June, and according to Keith Niebuhr of Auburn Undercover, the lineman intends to return for an official visit in the fall. He plans to announce his commitment decision on August 1, which theoretically puts the Tigers in a good spot if he already plans to come back.
Auburn Undercover also reports that it’s likely Story and his cousin, 3-star linebacker Micah Pollard, will attend the same college, and they both visited the Plains on the same day. Bryan Harsin’s biggest recruiting competition for the pair will come from UCF and former Auburn football head coach Gus Malzahn. Central Florida was the only school that Story officially visited.
Fly War Eagle reported last week that the Tigers are in a good spot in the recruitment of Caden Story, who called Auburn “a real factor” in his recruitment. This recruiting battle would be a major win for Bryan Harsin and would keep major talent in-state.
