Potential Auburn football commit #4: Omarion Hampton

Omarion Hampton is a 4-star running back out of Cleveland, NC, and the Tigers are going to have to fight hard to pry him away from the Tar Heels. A longtime UNC target, Hampton took official visits to UNC, Florida, Ohio State, Penn State, and Auburn.

Hampton was extremely impressed with his visit to the Plains, but followed up his UNC visit with the announcement of his decision date. That could mean nothing, but the RB’s 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction lands him in his home state.

If the Tigers miss out on Omarion Hampton, it’s likely that they’ll push even harder for 3-star Quinshon Judkins, a local running back from Pike Road, AL. The Alabama native had only positive things to say about the Tigers and got to spend a lot of time with the running back corps on his visit.

Potential Auburn football commit #5: Damari Alston

Running back Damari Alston is set to make his final decision on July 25, and he could officially become an Auburn Tiger. The 4-star GA native is ranked as the #27 RB in the state and the #29 running back in the recruiting class of 2022.

In the month of June the Tigers hosted Alston for an unofficial visit, but he took OVs to LSU, Northwestern, and Penn State. According to College and Magnolia, UNC is currently the team to beat, and because Penn State, Florida, Auburn, and UNC are recruiting in the same circles right now it’s likely that more commitments will follow once a few recruits make their decision.

Alston reported that Auburn was high on his list after his visit, but he wants to play early, and with Jarquez Hunter currently gaining traction in the offseason it seems that Alston may have to take a backseat to the incoming freshman.

Auburn football is currently in a good spot with Alston, but we’ll have to wait until the end of the month to see where he lands.
