The recruiting process has finally come to an end for Alabama native Micah Pollard, who has narrowed down his choices and decided that he will be continuing his collegiate career with Michigan rather than Auburn football.
The Tigersβ biggest competition for the 3-star linebacker came from Michigan, though UCF and Indiana were heavily in the mix as well. He took official visits to all four schools before making his final decision to commit to the Wolverines.
Pollard, a native of Jacksonville, FL, is ranked as the #78 recruit out of the state of Florida and the #56 linebacker in the recruiting class of 2022. The LB had a roller coaster ride of recruitment, starting off strong trending towards Michigan and then changing direction towards the Plains after his OV, per our fellow FanSided site GMB Wolverine.
Despite a positive visit to the Auburn campus, Harsin and his staff were unable to pull the linebacker away from the Wolverines, who had the Crystal Ball prediction for Pollard at the end of his recruitment:
Pollard had connections to both Michigan and Auburn, according to Keith Niebuhr of Auburn Undercover. His uncle is former Wolverines receiver Braylon Edwards, and his father was a teammate of Coach Jim Harbaugh. However, Pollard attended Valley High School in Lanett, AL, with his cousin, Caden Story, who is also a Tiger target.
Before officially committing, Pollard indicated he and Story would most likely attend the same college, but Story holds no offer from Michigan and is already set to commit on August 1. This could potentially be good news for Auburn football, who will have to fight off UCF for Story.
Pollard becomes the second Auburn target to commit to Michigan in just a week, joining Myles Pollard on the Wolverinesβ 2022 roster. The Tigers currently have six commits in the class of 2022.
