Auburn football’s resident class of 2022 recruiter–Holden Geriner–may have some competition on the horizon with the addition of 4-star running back Damari Alston to the team. Alston, a product of Atlanta, GA, committed to the Tigers just days ago on July 25.

Geriner, Auburn football’s class of 2022 QB commit, has embraced the role of recruiter since committing to Bryan Harsin’s Tigers in early February. From Shemar James to Emory Floyd to Darrius Clemons, Geriner has always been vocal about wanting fellow athletes to join him on the Plains.

Now, Alston is all-in when it comes to enticing prospects to commit to the Tigers. Already, Alston tweeted at 4-star defensive lineman Caden Story, whose commitment date is set for August 1. He’ll choose between a final two of Auburn and UCF, but Alston is doing his best to get the DL to the Plains:

Quickly, Holden Geriner noticed the call to action from his newest teammate and joined in with a hashtag of his own, one pushing for wide receiver Darrius Clemons to commit to Auburn football.

But neither Geriner not Alston intend to stop their recruiting any time soon. In fact, Alston even went so far as to joke about coming for Darren Uscher’s job, Director of Recruiting:

As Auburn football’s recruiting class of 2022 continues to be the worst-ranked in the entire SEC, getting the commits themselves hyped up for the team may be the best way to get other recruits on board. Bryan Harsin will have to continue to get impact commits for the Tigers, especially if they have to compete in a 16-team SEC as early as the 2022-23 season.
