To fans of both Auburn football and Barstool Sports: I’m sorry. It didn’t have to be this way.

But clearly, violence was the decision Barstool’s famed mustached football guru felt was necessary to power through the fourth-to-last Friday that doesn’t result in a college football Saturday the next day this summer.

In responding to noted Auburn aficionado All Aubarn All Day, Barstool Big Cat (aka Dan Katz) revealed a bias against Bo Nix that we quite frankly wish we never knew existed.

Per his verified Twitter account:

As a former Wisconsin Badger, Big Cat (real name Dan Katz) was in school when his beloved Badgers were defeated in their first-ever matchup against Auburn football in the Music City Bowl in Nashville back in 2003.

As a young man, seeing UW go down in a two-touchdown game must have left a scar that he still has to this day.

That said, the Badgers have gotten the better of AU the past two times they played, narrowly edging out Gus Malzahn’s Tigers–in a disappointing second season following a 2013 BCS Championship appearance–and defeating Tommy Tuberville’s Tigers in the 2006 Capital One Bowl by the same margin AU had three years prior.

There should be no bad blood. Not from Madison, Wisconsin, or in Katz’ case Chicago…although technically New York City at the moment.

Instead, there should be understanding.

Shouldn’t Big Cat know what it’s like to occasionally breakthrough for a conference title but live with the bothersome reality that the top dog of the conference is always one big recruiting class swing away from reclaiming their throne?

Also, doesn’t Big Cat know that this is the year? Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He’s focused. He’s having fun. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a dark horse for the Heisman.

We’d like to invite Big Cat to rescind this act of aggression and extend a peace offering to the PMT host.
