Auburn football #2 offseason meme: Bo Nix, ‘Bama, and poured out sweet tea

When government bodies all over the United States empowered their states to allow collegiate athletes to cash out on their name, image, and likeness, the floodgates opened for players everywhere to get paid.

Bo Nix was the first Tiger to announce a brand partnership, and he started off hot with Milo’s Sweet Tea. What was interesting about the deal was that Milo’s was primarily based in Birmingham, which is a hop and a skip from Tuscaloosa compared to the Plains.

It wasn’t long after Nix signed his deal before Alabama Malachi Moore also signed on with the Sweet Tea brand. Before Moore did so, however, Alabama fans were pouring out Milo’s Sweet Tea down the sink drain.

This led to plenty of banter between the two Iron Bowl rival fanbases. It was a sweet innocent time compared to the eye-rolling drama we have been subjected to the last few days.

Alas, the days of witnessing Tide fans angrily disposing of their quality sweet tea product and then walking it back within a week are done, but they were great days this summer.
