Former Auburn football star and 2018 second-round NFL Draft pick Carlton Davis came up with a pivotal play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night during the NFL’s first game of the 2021 season.
The Super Bowl CB and member of the ‘Gravediggers‘ picked off a Dak Prescott pass in the third quarter that directly led to a Tom Brady touchdown toss to TE Rob Gronkowski.
The Tampa Bay defense’s first INT of the season had Twitter going nuts.
And it brought out a ton of takes on Davis’ night as well. Here are the positive ones:

Davis and Jamel Dean represented Auburn football on the national stage this past February and helped contribute to one of the all-time memorable Super Bowl wins at home in Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
They are now joined by 2021 NFL Draft pick K.J. Britt (fifth round), who will join Tom Brady in a Super Bowl defense for the ages as fans once again fill stadiums.
Davis already matches his 2019 INT total with the third-quarter pick. His career-high (four) came last season.
