Auburn football: 2022 commits band together to recruit Drew Bobo
Auburn football’s recruiting class of 2022 earned its first player-recruiter when Holden Geriner committed to the Tigers back in February, but its second came with the commitment of Damari Alston in July. Since then, the pair have gone after countless prospects on Twitter, campaigning for Auburn football.
The latest recruiting target? Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo’s son, Drew, who currently plays at Auburn High School. The 3-star offensive lineman is the #26 recruit out of the state of Alabama and the #54 offensive tackle in the class of 2022.
Bobo’s decision has reportedly come down to Auburn and Georgia. Earlier this summer the Dawgs were thought to be the leader with the OT, but his visit to the Plains during Big Cat Weekend may have swung the momentum back towards the Tigers.
A decision could be coming soon from Drew Bobo, and Auburn football’s class of 2022 commits want to see him in orange and blue. RB Damari Alston kicked things off, but soon WR Omari Kelly and tight end Micah Riley-Ducker joined in:
According to Keith Niebuhr of Auburn Undercover, Bobo has become a priority offensive line target for Bryan Harsin and Mike Bobo. Several of his Auburn High football teammates are also being recruited by the Tigers, including ’22 commit Powell Gordon, and targets Eston Harris Jr. and Bradyn Joiner.
There is a lot of local talent in Auburn, and if the class of 2022 can start an Auburn High-Auburn University pipeline it would greatly benefit the Tigers. Drew Bobo still has yet to set a decision date, but we can expect a commitment from him sooner than later.
