Auburn football fans are having a ball here in the 2021 season. Two dominant wins and have kicked off the season in style, and other members of the SEC (and much of the country) are having early difficulties.

LSU’s misfortunes last weekend gave AU fans a nice nightcap of college football to come home to after last week’s 60-10 victory over Akron.

This week, a future SEC member whose fans are making bold claims ahead of their entry into the big leagues went down hard to a current SEC member who is far down the totem pole in recent seasons.

The Texas Longhorns lost by 19(!) points to Arkansas to just about end their College Football Playoff hopes in 2021. I say that because Oklahoma’s narrow win and near-choke job against Tulane in Week One might have been the kickstart needed to get back on track and once again beat Texas en route to wining the Big 12. They followed last week’s 40-35 effort with a 76-0 fireworks display against FCS Western Carolina.

Auburn football fans let UT have it the wake of the Razorback’s evisceration of the Longhorns at home:

Ultimately, the game was won on the ground for the hogs. Arkansas outrushed Texas 333 to 138. It’s hard to win games when your offensive production (471-256 in favor of the Razorbacks) is almost doubled up by the opposition.

Welcome to the SEC, Texas. It’s a different ballgame than the Big 12.
