It’s officially Penn State hate week, and Auburn football is gearing up to make its first road trip of the season to their biggest matchup of 2021. College Gameday will be headed to State College with many Auburn fans for the primetime whiteout.
The Tigers took care of their first two opponents easily, but the first true test for Bryan Harsin’s first Auburn football team will come from Penn State this week. After kicking off their season with a big win over Wisconsin and rolling over Ball State, the Nittany Lions are heading into Week 3 as a top ten team in the AP poll.
Auburn worked its way up to the #22 spot prior to the road game, but the team has a lot to prove this weekend with an opponent like Penn State. While Tiger fans are confident that the orange and blue will take care of business in Happy Valley, Nittany Lions fans are sure of the opposite.
Somehow, they’ve convinced themselves that a Beaver Stadium whiteout will be intimidating for the Tigers, as though they haven’t played in Bryant-Denny Stadium or LSU’s Death Valley. They’re convinced we’ve never heard noise like this before, and that there’s nothing like a Penn State whiteout:

If Auburn football DOES come away from State College with a loss, it definitely won’t be because of the whiteout, a tradition that has seen just as many losses as wins for the Nittany Lions in the past 16 years. Penn State, the Tigers are coming!
