Auburn football will travel to Baton Rouge this weekend to take on the LSU Tigers under the lights in Death Valley, but will it be third-year starter Bo Nix or LSU transfer TJ Finley taking the field as QB1?

Head coach Bryan Harsin is remaining tight-lipped when it comes to who will take on the starting role, and forcing Ed Orgeron’s Tigers to prepare for two quarterbacks. For the home team, there’s no question that sophomore Max Johnson will be making his fifth start.

Johnson took over as LSU’s starting quarterback following Myles Brennan’s pre-season injury and has played extremely well for the Tigers this season. He’s passed 87-135 in 2021 for 1,144 yards and 15 touchdowns with three interceptions.

However, some of the folks over at SEC Network may have been caught hyping up Max Johnson a little too much on Twitter, posting a pass that was eh at best and calling it “an absolute dime”:

If you’ll notice, there were no defenders anywhere close to the receiver, who actually had to stop to make the catch. Auburn football fans were some of the people that noticed:

It’s possible that SEC Network needs to revisit its definition of “dime.” In the meantime, let’s hope that Auburn football’s defense doesn’t allow a single pass scenario like that one in their primetime matchup from Death Valley at 8:00 pm central time.

Next. Auburn football fans are not fans of barking baby. dark
