I said it’s great, to be, an Auburn Tiger…especially after Barstool’s Big Cat decided to pick Georgia over Auburn football in their Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry game this coming Saturday.
Big Cat (real name Dan Katz) has had a history of setting money on fire with his wages this season, and his (along with Ole Miss fan Ben Mintz) bets routinely result in hilarity through his sad in-game and post-game tweets.
Well, hilarity if you didn’t place the same bet, that is.
Tiger fans rejoiced over Big Cat’s reneging of his Auburn football pick to back the Bulldogs:
Big Cat I’ve never been more confident in Auburn until you picked against us. Automatic dub for the good guys now.

Auburn win now.

As an Auburn fan, thank you for jinxing the dawgs. War Eagle

On the other side of the fence, UGA fans were none too happy to have Big Cat in their corner:
Fuck the reverse jinx on GA sports, please stay away Dan

Don’t jinx the Dawgs please

There’s plenty of storylines surrounding Saturday’s matinee between the #2 and #18 teams in the country. For AU, Bo Nix’s ability to replicate last Saturday night’s masterpiece on the Bayou is at the forefront of the conversation after Arkansas QB KJ Jefferson had his feel-good season ground to a halt against Georgia in a serious statement from the Bulldogs defense earlier in the day.
Dawn of the Dawg, our UGA sister-site, sees Tank Bigsby, Jarquez Hunter, and the Tigers DL as the biggest challenges for Georgia at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday. For Auburn football, slowing down Zamir White and James Cook will be their primary worry, although Stetson Bennett could dice up the secondary in a Sean Clifford-esque manner (28/32 passing in a Week 3 Penn State win against AU) if the Tigers comes out looking like they did in the first half against LSU.
As Saturday approaches, perhaps more good luck charms like this could bless what could shape up to be a beautiful weekend on the Plains.
