Auburn football hosted quite the list of visitors this weekend for their SEC matchup versus the Georgia Bulldogs. All of the Tigers’ class of 2022 commits were present, and recruits from multiple classes were there to experience the game. Drew Bobo was on the Plains for the game and committed to the Tigers after the weekend.

One of the more notable visitors was Baton Rouge native Austin Ausberry. The 4-star cornerback took his official visit over the weekend, and despite the fact that Auburn football lost he gave the OV a perfect score, per Auburn Undercover:

"“Oh, it’s a 10,” Ausberry said. “I loved it. I’m being real. Everything was there. I loved the atmosphere at the game. The only thing was, they lost. But everything else was good."

Ausberry had a chance to talk with the coaching staff and make good connections, and the class of 2022 commits did their best to make him feel wanted on the Plains:

"“The QB (Holden Geriner), the running back (Damari Alston) and the O-Lineman (Drew Bobo) that just committed and the DB (Caleb Wooden) that’s committed all welcomed me,” Ausberry said. “Damari and all them boys all welcomed me in great.”"

However, Ausberry’s recruitment is far from over, and there are several other schools in the mix for the cornerback, who named a top six of Notre Dame, Alabama, Michigan, Auburn, Florida, and LSU in August.

Bryan Harsin and his staff are pushing hard for the cornerback, but the three main schools to beat for the 4-star prospect are Michigan, Florida, and Alabama. Ausberry has been to both Michigan and Florida in an unofficial capacity and has an official visit to Florida in December.

Keith Niebuhr reports that it’s likely the cornerback will also officially visit Alabama and Michigan, and could also return to the Plains for another visit with Auburn football. The Tigers’ biggest competitor here is probably Florida.

Ausberry was in the Swamp for the Gators’ close game with the Crimson Tide, and he had a great time at that game:

"“My time was great,” Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab four-star cornerback Austin Ausberry said. “The atmosphere was live!”"

The 4-star cornerback will wait until his high school season is over before he commits. Until then, Harsin and his staff will have to recruit Ausberry hard to keep him away from Michigan, Florida, and Alabama.
